In a 2018 interview with InUth.com, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opened up about why she turned down the 2004 film Troy. Aishwarya then explained that as Troy was a huge film, it was difficult for her to lock off a film for at least 6 to 9 months.
Talking about it further, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said, “The films in the West and here work a little differently. In the sense that when they meet you, and these terms were new to me, they say greenlit and ready to roll like in two months and then they lock you (your dates) off for that period of time because of the insurance.” She then added, “The way the entire film’s schedule is, you’re locked off.” The actress then mentioned that for her to lock off that time when she had some films already that she was committed to, she just couldn’t kick those films to the curb.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was offered the role of Briseis in the 2004 film Troy. Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, the 2004 historical film starred Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Dian Kruger, among others.
